2012 Kamloops Fire Rescue Charity Calendar
The Kamloops Firefighters Association is excited to unveil our 2nd Annual Firefighters Calendar. Last year the inaugural calendar sales helped us to donate over $30,000 to the BC Burn Fund and to the Royal inland hospital. We have alot of fun with this calendar project, from meeting our supporters to selling the calendars at various sales events.
As firefighters physical fitness is an important part of our lives as our personal health keeps us sharp and better able to serve our community in their time of need. The men and women of Local 913 often compete in the Police / Fire Games and Ironman, plus our Firefit Team is a top competitor in North America. A healthy lifestyle is something that we try to promote whenever we interact with our community which is why this calendar is a perfect fundraising opportunity.
With the Purchase of your 2012 calendar, we are confident that we can raise even more money for our deserving charities this year. Together we can build a brighter future for burn survivors and for patients that require the care they need at the Royal Inland Hospital.
Sincerely,
Kris Krutop
International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 913 President

Operation Nicaragua
With several visits under there belts, local member David Sakaki and wife Sue have once again stated the need for another relief mission. With the goal of two 40 foot shipping containers filled with humanitarian supplies to be delivered, this mission is sure to be a success.
Relief mission taking place February 2012.
Operation Haiti
KFR members planned a trip to haiti for Jan 2010. They raised over $20,000 to go towards the construction of a kid's sports camp. The team planned to go down and assist with the construction but because of the huge earthquake the team was unable to enter the country.
After the quake the team raised an additional $22,000 for disaster relief. The money raised for the camp was sent down and was designated to the camp and the disaster relief money was used in the relief effort.
The following year, Jan 2011, a KFR team again raised project money and this time they were able to go down and assist with the work. A team of 11 went down and stayed at Camp Mahanaim, the kids camp which is being built. The team worked on an orphanage for amputee children which when finished will house 80 children.
